About Us

Empowering Communities, Enriching Lives in Southern Haiti

At the heart of the Man Dodo Foundation lies a profound commitment to transform underserved communities in Southern Haiti.

The Man Dodo Humanitarian Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit organization that was established in 2005 in honor of Mrs. Evanne “Man Dodo” Lozama, a respected figure in the Haitian community known for her dedication to improving the lives of underserved women and children in Haiti. The foundation was founded by the Lozama children and their extended family with the goal of continuing Mrs.Lozama's legacy of service.

Initially, the foundation started with a simple toy drive mission trip to provide toys, food, and clothing to children in the southern region of Haiti. However, during this trip, the Lozama siblings recognized the significant healthcare needs in the area and shifted their focus to providing medical services. Since then, the foundation has expanded its efforts to not only provide healthcare services but also to promote primary prevention through community education about various disease processes.

Man Dodo believes every child deserves a future.

The Legacy Lives On

In Honor of Evanne Lozama

The Man Dodo Humanitarian Foundation has achieved significant milestones, including providing healthcare services to over 20,000 families and distributing more than 30,000 toys. The foundation's success is attributed to the support of volunteers, healthcare providers, and partnerships with organizations like the Haitian American Nurses Association (HANA) and the Evangelical Baptist Mission of South Haiti (MEBSH).

In addition to healthcare initiatives, the foundation also emphasizes providing resources in the areas of economics, education, and social support to underserved communities. This includes initiatives such as establishing computer labs to improve digital literacy and to date the foundation has opened three computer labs in Cavaillon, Haiti.

The foundation's commitment to its mission and values was further demonstrated in its response to the devastating earthquake that struck the Southwest region of Haiti onAugust 14th, 2021. The foundation collaborated with various organizations to implement short, mid, and long-term aid strategies, including distributing relief supplies and water filtration systems to affected communities.

The foundation's focus also extends to the long-term reconstruction and sustainability of communities in Southern Haiti, including the construction of structurally sound homes and plans for a community center and shelter.

The Man Dodo Humanitarian Foundation, Inc. continues to seek financial contributions and physical participation from individuals and organizations to support its ongoing efforts in rebuilding, education, and community development. Those interested in supporting the foundation can visit their donation and sponsorship page or contact them directly.

The foundation expresses gratitude for the support it has received over the years and emphasizes its dedication to ensuring that Mrs. Evanne “Man Dodo” Lozama's legacy of service lives on.
